Question:
Playstation 3 connection problems?

Hey I've got connection problems but only when I play online on my playstation 3. I'm mainly playing cod4/5 and I always have a red bar connection about 5pm onwards. Now I've rang up AOL and they say it's because it's peak time and people are coming home from work. But I know that's wrong because I've been using AOL for about 5 years and my playstation for 2 and I've only had the problems for about 4 months, Also I did a speedtest at www.speedtest.net and I received these results. http://www.speedtest.net/result/455749402.png Now that is a good connection for my phone line so I don't understand how I've got a bad connection when I'm playing online. I would love it if someone could help me.

Is your isp curbing your bandwidth at peak times? Have you tried a ping / speed test at different times to compare?

I take it that you're using a wireless LAN? (because you mention signal strength) Your signal strength may be 100% but that doesn't necessarily mean that your internet access speed is particularly high. I had to upgrade my wireless router to a Belkin N1 MIMO in order to reliably use the PS3 online because the one I had before just wasn't fast enough. And as you're asking more of the internet connection when using a headset as well as just playing online, you may need a faster connection. I suggest that, if you can, you try the headset through a cabled connection. If the problem persists, then it might be the headset that's at fault. If not then it's more than likely to be your access speed. Hope that helps!

sometimes cod4/5 will lag alot. its the way it is. sometimes i have good connection , sometimes i dont. you just need to see if your the only 1 with red bar connection. if you are then do not use other computers or anything like that. as applications like limewire will make your gameplay slow.

this is mined one but i generally find games ok to play with.

maybe you should try other games and see if its the game itself, ps3 or your internet connection. sometimes you might want to use wired connection as wireless sucks.
