I heared it is possible by installing a software called Yellow Dog Linux for PS3 on PS3.
Is it true ?

you can install yellow dog, or psubuntu. you might just be able to get old games to work. there is two problems 1. sony doesnt let the os use all of its(ps3) hardware. and 2 you have to prettymuch emulate windows to run games through a program called wine, which isnt extremely successful even on pcs.

If you install an OS such as Ubuntu or Linux on PS3, you can do anything an operating system can do...such as download FireFox/Flash and play flash games

If you get a MS-DOS emulator on your Linux ps3 YOU MIGHT be able to play computer games. But not new ones.
