Get the PS3. Reliability-issues alone should convince you NOT to get an Xbox. This console gets the RROD far more often than it should. Even with the release of the "Jasper" chipset, the 360 still gets RROD. This is a design flaw and I read that Microsoft acknowledged that. The 360 needed more testing before being mass produced.

As for the games, it is true that the 360 has "better" games at this point. It has Halo and Gears of War. But the PS3's exclusives aren't too shabby either. Games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 and inFamous will make you happy you didn't get a 360. The PS3's game library is getting better and better. Online play has also improved a lot since launch and it's FREE! The console is poised to have more games considering it's now more affordable. You won't go wrong with a $299 multimedia powerhouse in the PS3.

Hardware-wise, the PS3's BD-ROM aka "Blu-ray" already makes it a superior machine to the 360. As you may know, BD-ROM is now the de facto format of digital HD media. The "Blu-ray" format won against the 360's HD-DVD format. The PS3 not only provides you one of the cheaper BD-ROM players on the market, it is also an outstanding games console.

I'm not biased against the 360. I once considered getting one. But when you weigh the pros and cons yourself, you'll find out the PS3 gives you not only more value for your money, but also a better multimedia and gaming experience.

PS3 is the best, with all the money I put into playing online with the 360 I could have gotten a PS3 and a couple games and play those online for free. PS3 ended up costing me a lot less than the 360. I got a lot of DLC from xbox life and my 360 stopped signing into xbox live because it couldn't get an ip address, so I tried everything they said to do and finally gave up after a year. The ps3 hasn't failed once. It is easily the better system. The game disks can store more data then the 360 disks. Resistance 2 was a long fun game, it took me a week to beat it (normally takes me about 2 days to beat a game) Gears 2 was good but it was really short I beat it the day I got it.

I own a Xbox 360 and it is great. Great graphics and games. But, some of my friends have a PS3 and they say it is better than the 360. Better graphics and everything.

PS3, definately. I won't tell you a whole lot of info, but;

the PS3 has far better graphics and is easily connected by HDMI cable.

It's now $299 and is small and portable.

It has a 120 gigabytehard-disk.

It has many great games; Gran Turismo 5, inFAMOUS, Resistance 2, etc.

The experience is great, and with good speakers the sound quality and pictures will blow you away.

It can surf the internet and is very customizable (themes, wallpapers, etc.).

It can play Blu-ray, DVDs, and can store music and photos.

You can play online with friends and download games from Playstation Network.

And lastly, it's Sony, not Microsoft.

PS3. Free Wi-Fi and online play, better graphics, less glitches and you don't have to worry about the "red ring of death". Although the 360 has more games, PS3 is catching up. And you can get the new slim PS3 for like $299.

The x-box 360 does netflix, cooler back grounds better background music options. Sometime faster loading time. X-box 360 user's dvd-dual layer disks. Can't hang with blu-ray, does not play blu-ray but has out dated hd player. It all so has red ring of death fake ring of death. If you bump your system your disk is now scratched badly. Does not have a internet browser. online is not free at all. But the name calling is never as bad. Being you can report people very easy and it has a rate system to it online.

But the ps3 has better looking games with HD blu-ray disks, holds more data. Ps3, over heats baddly at times, yellow light of death, blu-ray drive problems, coolers smell like burning plastic. You can't play music in the background of game very few let you do this. Can't play netflix, Does have a internet browser, but it asks for a plug-in every single min. The ps3 sometimes is slow about loading, freeze's. power supply goes out to soon. Not enough games just for the ps3.

But you can rent movies and buy tv shows and movies in the ps store along with games, psp games, and psone games. Free online, lags a bit but still pretty good. No rate system, and kind of hard to report people for harassment and name calling. ps3 online is a bit childish at times. The PS3 is good but i would say so is the x-box360
