My copy of Skyrim keeps freezing when every I wait and the start walking. Other times it will just stop in the middle of battle or just randomly freeze. My console is 250GB and my save file is almost 10KB. I also still have a frame rate issues as well. What do I do should i get rid of the game or what it starting to annoy me.

Since the latest patch Bethesda said this was solved. As myself and many others have found, it is not. To work around it go into the saved data utility (prior to launching the game) and delete any/all "corrupted file" items that you find there. These files will have the word "corrupted" in the name. Then launch the game and open the game options and turn off all five auto-save items. You will then have to play old-school creating your own manual saves but it will stop freezing your system.

No, you don't have to restart from level 1, just delete the corrupted files before launching the game, load up your current game, and then turn off the auto-saves.

Bethesda says that the problem is due to the split memory model that PS3 uses for its hardware. The issue was visible in their previous titles but it gets more pronounced the more stuff you have in the world (hence the longer you play) and there is a lot more stuff in Skyrim than the previous titles.

Mine is also freezing up a lot lately... I just reached a save file size of 11MB. My PS3 is brand new so I'm pretty sure it isn't the system. Have a friend who is having the same issues. I have disabled all autosave options and that has helped a bit, but it still freezes once in a while and since autosave is off, I lose everything I did since my last manual save. It is quite annoying, probably going to wait for another patch until I play anymore. By the way, to respond to a previous answer... The save file is small on the hard drive - but the problem is in RAM, the larger the file gets, the more data that is being used up in RAM on the system which is causing the freezing and locking up - Bethesda programmers must not have done a very good job with 'garbage collection' or freeing up RAM that is filled with data that is no longer being used. XBOX and obviously PC have more ram than the PS3 and I think this is the real cause of these problems. It will take a major fix to solve these problems if it is even possible.

The game has frozen about 20 times already so don't worry it's not your ps3. Well , not likely. I've had normal freezes where the screen would just ''freeze'' having to reset the system. I've had other freezes where the game would just black out and go back to the ps3 home/menu. I've had other freezes where i couldn't even turn off the system. It's pretty bad lol. I'm actually scared my blu-ray lens is taking a dump as my previous system crapped after several Fallout Vegas freezes. Same company , same type of game.

The save file Keeps getting larger the more you play. No big deal there. Still incredibly small on your hard drive.
