I have some PS2 games I want to save, not port over. Like SOCOM takes up loads of data on the 8MB Memory Card. Can that data be saved onto the hard drive? Like, an all new file and so on? Because I have no more room on my 8MB card and just want to save PS2 saves on the HDD. Is it possible?

yes you can. And you can also get the PS2 to PS3 memory card adapter which transfers the game saves from the old ps2 memory card to the PS3's hardrive

El negalotorio. you will would desire to mod the ps3 with an .iso loader to try this. some shadowy communities have claimed to have working .iso loaders, yet they are probably liars. If there is an .iso loader, you will would desire to get a difficult reproduction of an previous firmware via fact contemporary firmware will likely stumble upon the mod and bust you for a EULA violation. And with an previous firmware, of direction, you would be sacrificing PSN perpetually, alongside with all video games that require you to log in to play. An .iso loader might require a hardware mod to defeat the hypervisor, meaning it may be everlasting - PSN is merely too huge a sacrifice to make for that. there is one element you're able to do with a opt for few ps2 video games to velocity load situations. you are able to save a patch of interest information, usually 2 gb or so. yet you nevertheless would desire to start the interest with the disc. The record of video games which could do it is in the web handbook and consists of the Socom's, Resident Evil 4 and extremely final fable XI.

Yes you can. You have to partition space on the hard drive for ps2 games. The instruction manual that came with your ps3 tells you how to do that.
