There's been alot of rumours floating around GDC '09 about a new firmware coming this week.



But it has been confirmed due to a recent Resistance 2 patch that talks about multiple PSN logins to track individual progress on one console. The feature could only be added with a firmware update according to Insomniac games.



The most notable changes include faster operation of the XMB, trophies and in-game functions.

I'm hoping this will be available late tonight (2am when the cap comes back :smileysad:), but most likely will coincide with the Playstation Home update to be released on Thursday.

It comes out soon. The biggest update i think is a chat option that lets you chat with friends during games. You can be in chat rooms as well as private chats.



This feature simply sets the ground work for voice chat outside of games. Then you can talk to friends in different games and outside of games at the same time.
