I just got a PlayStation 3 in order to stream on Netflix. So is it just the movies or shows on the front page of Netflix that are available for streaming? Like the ones where they say "recently watched", "recently released" and blah blah blah?

I have Netflix app on my iPhone and when I typed in "Sopranos", "Game of thrones"' and "Dexter" nothing came up so does that mean these shows are not available on streaming, or does it mean something else?

Same thing on the laptop or desktop, the shows or movies you're allowed to watch on Netflix will have the play sign on them indicating that you can watch that show or movie. If the play sign is on a movie or show, does that mean the movie or show is available for streaming on Netflix?

Subscribing to streaming only is too limiting. It takes both a DVD subscription and a streaming subscription to get the broadest selection. For example, 2 DVDs at a time, unlimited is 7.99/month. Unlimited streaming is 7.99/month. So - for $16/month you can have access to any movie they have (and they have A LOT). Best deal around.

If you do a search, and don't find what you want, it isn't available for streaming.

Netflix used to have "Dexter" on streaming, but Showtime got greedy and pulled it. Now it's only available for rent on DVD. "The Sopranos" and "Game of Thrones" have never been available for streaming. But you can also rent them on DVD or Blu-Ray from Netflix.

That's why I have both the streaming and disc option. When something I want isn't available for streaming, I just rent the disc.

Go to Netflix's main website (not the app) on the internet, via a browser, and do a search there. It will tell you what they have on disc (and streaming) - which is just about everything.

On the Netflix app, it will have all content available for streaming. You just have to select the option to browse all. I forget exactly how to get there, but it's on one of the menu options somewhere.
