Remove Dark Alex firmware?

Question

So I'm trying to remove the Dark Alex firmware on my PSP1000 (old, much?) and install the official firmware. But it didn't work and I went into safe/recovery mode but it didn't really say anything under configuration. Then I formatted my memory stick but I can't get back into safe mode. And nor can I install the official firmware.

I really don't know how to do these things. Help?

you have to download the official psp firmware to your computer (http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/psp/pc/index.htm) and then connect your psp to your the computer go to the game folder (psp>game) then create a new folder called UPDATE and put the eboot file in it, then unplug your psp and go to game and do the update.

Get the official update through your computer and then transfer it to your PSP, and update it. Some CFW block updating to official firmware( sees the current as 9999 and no need for an update) so you should try to downgrade to a previous one then update if that happens.
