Hi there are some problems that the Blu-ray players has region coding problems. Which means "some" movies could play. My question is, does the PS3 has the same problem when you watch blu-ray movies? I just want to make sure because I was thinking buying PS3 with 80GB. Thank you! :)

There are two types of region encoding- PAL and NTSC

As far as i know

Japan, HongKong , Singapore are NTSC

India PAL

Europe PAL

US, Canada NTSC

Not to worry though. Most of the games out now are region free. If ur region encoding is different then u need to import the games or buy region free games. Same with blue ray movies.

It was part of the reason that I bought the PS3 (I would have bought it anyway) but I think blu ray will win. The only bluray movie I have purchased is 300. I like the upscaling of regular DVD's too- Sin City looks awesome upscaled on my TV. I hope blu ray does not lose, that will not be good news for Sony or the PS3- but as long as they still made good games I would not complain too much.

no its only with the 40gb cause the 40gb as more problems the 80gb dose not.
