well i was on my ps3 yesterday playing dead island and my ps3 froze so i just restarted it and today it happend again those this mean my ps3 has a problem or not? also it was not overheated i have it in a dust free open area

Could be one of four problems. Your video card may be failing, which would cause the entire unit to 'freeze'. This is because, if your video card stops working, the PS3 can't really tell you.



Another hardware component is failing. Hardware components operate at the lowest possible kernel level. Thats why drivers cause things like BSOD on Windows, or entire system freezes.



Firmware bug. IF the firmware is somehow bugged, it is possible for the PS3 to freeze by code error. Rare, but possible. You would need to reset the unit to defaults to fix this though and re-install everything.



Last possibility is game bug. If the game is accessing a bad API code for example, it could trigger the PS3 to 'freeze'. Google and see if other people ahve that problem with that game. Fallout was bad for PS3 for this.

it does happen to me sometimes. and idk maybe its just a disc problem or the ps3 freaks out for no reason sometimes .. but my ps3 is still running normally.
