Why does my PS3 hum?

It's kind of annoying and would like to know if there is an easy fix for it. My ps3 hums when I play a dvd or a game. Not the fan on the machine itself but through the speakers in my tv. I've tried drowning it out by turning up the volume but it just gets louder. Any tips?

try cleaning the connectors on the AV cable as there might be something on them causing a dirty connection and inducing noise, also make sure that the cable running from your PS2 isnt near anything that puts out a lot of EMI (electro-magnetic interference) such as a microwave, the actual speakers themselves or anything electrical that uses a lot of power.

Its either that or you have a dodgy AV cable

It is internal drive for the ps3. The system has some bugs that have not been worked out and that hum helps it over heat faster and ps3 has been known to cause fires. Be safe

You should probaly return it to the store an exchange it with another PS3 (You must have the recipt for this). Theres plenty of PS3s in stock at this time so you should have no problem.

Your PS3 is probably just humming that tune he heard from your new game! He's a musical fella!

It's the fan inside the ps3 keeping it cool so you can play without risk of overheating it.

The audio cords for the psare working to close to to a ability twine. it is choosing up the noise from the flexibility source. attempt re-arranging the wires and spot if it is going away.
