PS3 Red Screen of Death?

Question

I get the red screen of death after start-up. I can't do anything with it and it comes on after I just turn on the system. It will go through the usual start up splash screen, you think everything is fine and then all of the sudden..... red screen. I haven't even put in a game yet or changed any settings and I get the death screen !!! AND it is out of warranty. Does anyone know how to fix this? HELP !!!!!!! PLEASE !!!!!

Red screen means a serious technical error has occured. The best thing would be to call Sony and tell them about the problem.

Tried it on another tv? Are you running it in HD or on a HD Tv?
