how do i copy ps2 saves on to a ps3?

i have a flash drive and also an ar max, (which doesn't seem to work in the ps3) is there anyway without buying a specialist bit of kit that i can copy all my game saves from my ps2 memory cards onto the ps3 internal memory card slots?

you cant copy a ps2 save to a ps3 console although you can play ps2 cames on a ps3,the reason you cant is the ps3 already has a fitted memory inside it.

Copy old Memory cards to PS3



After purchasing the USB drive needed, go to Memory Card Utility (under the Game folder). Then you select the memory card you have already put in (PS ONE CARDS DO WORK!!!) the card should appear as the top icon in the list. Simply click X and your on your way. After copying the card, you will need to assign it a slot. (there are still only two slots.) you can changeout the slots for different memory cards to load your game, for example if you have five memory cards you can put a PS2 one you are about to use and a another one you may use later in slots one and two.



How do I make a PS2 Save Game on the Harddrive?



Simply go to Memory Card Utility (under the Game folder), then select the icon that says "New Internal Memory Card". It will ask you whether you want a PS One or a PS2 card. And your on your Way. Just like the Question above^, you will need to assign the card to one of two slots.

yes, you will need to buy the ps3 memory card adapter. it generally retails 14.99 USD with it you can store your old ps1 and ps2 saves onto an internal memory card on the ps3. its quick and painless to do and well worth the money.

there is an adapter you can buy at gamestop that lets you do this. It connects your memory card directly to your ps3. I have one and have used it. its quick and easy. i think walmart might sell them 2, but im not sure.
