L4D PS3????????????????????????

Question

I'm sure most of you have seen a whole bunch or forums and stuff saying that L4D or L4D2 is coming to the PS3. How many of you think this is true?

Chris and Vault-Boy are wrong. Yes, Valve has stated that they are not developing for the PS3 currently, but EA games (the owners of L4D) has a PS3 specific development team that may be handling this. I quote from the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine



"Valve's survival horror game Left 4 Dead is coming to PS3, but EA will be taking on development duties in-house."



Oh, and Valve is hiring right now for developers with "PlayStation Experience an Asset" so you can bet your bottom dollar they are working on something for the PS3.



Vault-Boy: I would love to see that exact quote somewhere, because at GDC this year Gabe said that he was extremely embarrassed at the Orange Box's technical performance on the PS3 and that they were striving for excellence on their next PS3 outing by developing specific teams to deal with the console. Oh, and that was his televised key-note speech. I'm sure G4 has a clip.

No. Valve has specifically stated they will not bother with the PS3 unless they get people that can develop games well for the PS3, because they have little experience at it. An example is the Orange Box, for PS3. Horrible framerates and other glitches that made it worse that it's 360/PC counter part.



Making PS3 games differ, requiring more work that a 360 or PC, since those are both made by Microsoft and can be developed. similarly on both.

He continued "I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a Do Over. Just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and we're sorry and we're going to stop selling this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it'".

There were earlier rumors of a port to the ps3 but valve quickly shot them down.



if you are talking about that article from a few years ago about l4d coming to the ps3, it's outdated and valve made a statement about it.

I hope it happens. Left 4 Dead is the only PC/Xbox 360 game that I want on the PS3. I also want Grand Theft Auto 4 The Lost and the Damned for PS3.
