My PSP won't read my memory card?

I've been looking for an answer to this question for a long time. It's not mine it's my brothers, that's why I could probably care less.

Anyways. I have the 32Mb memory card that came with the PSP. I have like the very first PSP in history. XP The memory card worked fine and everything with Tony Hawk Underground.

I never connected the PSP or the memory card to a computer. I never even had any other data on the PSP except for the game data. The PSP is not hacked in any way at all. It's just a normal PSP. When I bought Sonic Rivals, the game came with an update. The game itself had the update, I never connected the PSP to the interent. After the update, the game wouldn't recognize my memory card. This orange light started blinking every time I put the memory card in, and it tells me that there is no saved data, yet all my previous game data is on the memory card.

The current firmwire is 4.05. I can only assume we have that firmwire due to my brother playing other games that have the update on them.

I tried formatting the memory card, but if the PSP won't read the memory card, then it isn't no point; though I still tried. I tried using my older brother's PSP memory card, and that didn't work.

When I put my memory card in his PSP, it showed data and everything on it. It's just my PSP won't read the memory card. It's as if it's not in the system at all.

Any ideas, or do I need to just get a new PSP? I know that the PSP 1000's can be easily hacked, but I don't know if I can do that if the memory card slot doesn't work.

Oh, and can you leave the number for Sony.

Thanks for any help.

i tried this once and it might help. plug ur memory card into ur computer. create a new notepad, save the name as 'txt' and then put it inside PSP>GAME. it might help. if it doesnt. try getting a new one.

nicely in the experience that your psp won't answer it then there is maximum in all probability a malfuction. you need to attempt taking it to a activity save and asking the clerk to look at it or google psp issues.
