Question:
What does it mean connect storage media to a save destination for ps3 for an 160 GB?

I've been trying to figured it out, even by reading the manual instructions and or by search engines doesn't help that much. Well, anyways. I have an PS3 160 GB and by reading other posts. Seems like everybody wants to download things. But, however...my problem is, according to the updates on the system, I need to do back up and that's the problem I'm having. Everytime I try to do a system back up, I always received that connect storage media message. Any help, will be great. Thanks.

Btw, one more thing...if needed to be, someday I'll buy a ps3 memory card (if there is one out there), well if you can also tell me where is the memory card slot and how to get to it? thanks again.

It means that whatever file you are trying to save is a file that is incompatible with the PS3 or a file the PS3 cannot read, therefore, you are required to save it to external storage instead of the PS3 itself (Sony intentionally did this to protect the PS3 from harm and is why the console does not need things like anti-virus software & such).

There is no "PS3 Memory Card." You save it to any USB flash drive or USB hard drive on this planet that is formatted to FAT32. USB flash drives are already formatted to FAT32 out of the box and can be found at any discount or electronic store (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, K-Mart, RadioShack, etc. etc. etc.), so focus on those before hard drives (which often require formatting on a PC before PS3 use).

the 160 gb ps3 does not have memory card slots like the first few models. number 2 , a system backup is to be used in case your memory gets wiped off the hard drive so therefore you cannot use the hard drive to backup. you must use a flash drive or external hard.
