Do "Homemade" ps2 boot disks work?

i plan on making copied ps2 games because mine are getting scratched and i wouldn't want to replace them. I have learned the procedure to burn/copy a ps2 disc onto a DVD-R but to actually RUN the game you need a boot disk like swap magic. My PS2 is a slim version so i will just do a tape and tissue method to avoid buying a flip top.

My real question: I have seen on some sites that state you can make your own boot disk rather than buying swap magic. I get that the process would be very simple, but would a homemade boot disk work like swap magic? If it does, would it work exactly the same way?

yes they will work.i do this by using copy disk option in nero or you can simply make image of it when you buy a new game.by doing this you can burn its copy any time you require.

choose it best answer please.
