i hate to be the one to tell you this but you CAN'T. if you put a ps2 game into a ps3 you will wind up with a 600 dollar ps2. it damages the reader. yes i know when they came out they said hey they will be backwards compatible, meaning you could do it. you can't...the internal memory card of a ps3 doesn't work the same way as the external ps2 cards did and it will reconfigure your system to keep you from playing the new games. we asked the same question of the guy that works at our GameStop here. he had to give us the bad news. if you want to play ps2 games you need to play them on a ps2. good luck.

I heard the uk version is not fully backward compatible. Only a few ps2 games will work - what a rip off!

Don't listen to the person above me. It's possible to play PS2 games on a PS3 in the UK, but you need to download the latest firmware from Sony before you can play PS2 games on a PS3.

all you need is the lastest firmwere update and then keep looking at the website below to see if your ps2 games will work on the ps3.
